2003 Zerr Family Canoe Trip - by Mark | July 14, 2003, 08:02:51 AM
Well....first of all, I would like to thank Uncle Paul, Aunt Mary Ann, and Brad for making everything run so smoothly.

Everyone had a very good time.  I think we had almost 40 family members show up, which is a great turn out.

You can see all of the pictures here:

God gives us the finger? - by Mark | June 30, 2003, 01:23:26 PM
A truely bizarre picture from the cosmos is located here:

God sends humans a message via  our Hubble Space Telecope.

What is most interesting to me about this picture is how truly beautiful the cosmos can be, and how people can still insist all this stuff is an accident.

"WHOOPS! I BOUGHT A MUSTANG!" - by Mark | June 30, 2003, 12:51:00 PM
In another case of unbelievable US government waste. The troubled Los Alamos National Laboratory has come under fire for security, budget, and overall mis-management issues over the last few years.  Here is the latest example from http://www.defensetech.org/

Quote
Los Alamos equipment buyer Lillian Anaya thought she was ordering $30,000 worth of transducers. But she dialed a number that had been changed from an industrial equipment dealer to an auto parts shop, and wound up buying a Mustang with government money instead.

That's the assertion of Los Alamos and University of California investigators, who today cleared Anaya of any wrongdoing in a case that helped engulf the world's most important nuclear research center in a fog of scandal.

It's a move, lab critics said, that shows that the birthplace of the atomic bomb still hasn't come to terms with the problems of mismanagement and widespread fraud that have plagued it for years.

Here is the full sordid details:

Openly Gay Rapper? - by Mark | June 19, 2003, 03:13:32 PM
I read one of the most ridiculous articles on abcnews.com today.  You can read the article here:

I have nothing against people who are gay, but I am completely disturbed that artists are using the gay label as a way to drum up business.  What is their purpose for announcing they are gay?  It is to increase media exposure and make more money.

I like rap music, even though much of it promotes drugs, sex, etc....but it seems media these days is simply about shocking people.  I wonder if a musician claimed to be a gay, pedophile, necrophiliac satanist; would abcnews dedicate a whole article to them as well.

I swear one day I would like to drive down Hollywood Blvd.  and blast racist, homophobic, and generally anti-Semetic statements.....this way I could become a rich asshat too.
