Kim is in the Hospital - by Mark | September 03, 2007, 01:50:16 PM
Well...looks like I get to fend off the children by myself for a couple or few days.  Kim is in the hospital until further notice.  She has been having some pretty severe stomach problems for about  a month now, and I finally convinced her to go to the ER.  Turns out she has colitis.  The nurse said the earliest she will be sent home is tomorrow.  Here's hoping Kim recovers quickly....at least being in the hospital will give her some rest from her home full of boys.  I will post an update once I know more.

UPDATE:  I just spoke with Kim on the phone and she says she is starting to feel better.  Apparently when they first admitted her she had a 106 degree fever.  She said that is back down to "low grade" fever now.  Hopefully it is just a matter of time for the medicine to work at this point.  Wyatt is getting ready to awake from his nap and he has starting coughing the last couple of days....so pretty soon I will likely have at least two sick family members to take care of. Sad

UPDATE 2:  The nurse says Kim is pretty sick.  Her fever is down to 103 degrees and her blood pressure is quite low.  Kim will have a colonoscopy tomorrow afternoon which should tell us how bad she really is.  I will be saying extra prayers tonight with Wyatt at bedtime. Kim is a pretty tough girl, but it is still kind of scary having her in the hospital like this.

UPDATE 3:  Well...the family went to visit Mommy in the hospital...Kim is stabilized in the ICU now, and her blood pressure is almost back to normal.  That certainly is good news, but I am a bit bothered because the nurses do not really seem to know what is wrong with her.  They think the colonoscopy tomorrow will give us more information.  In the meantime, I am praying Kim is not septic.  It is possible this is somehow related to Jesse's C-section birth...perhaps a stray gauze strip inside her or something.  Should know more tomorrow afternoon.  Kim's Grandparents are coming up tomorrow to help with the children and provide some emotional support.  Daddy and Mommy will appreciate that, and I think Kim will like having her Granny around for emotional support.

UPDATE 4:  After feeding the children this morning, I called Kim's ICU nurse to see how she was doing.  Basically, she has not gotten any worse...but she is not any better either.  I will be dropping off the children later this morning to the baby sitter and then go off to the Hospital to visit with Kim.  Should know what is going on later this afternoon after the colonoscopy.  I slept terribly last night.

An interesting night of sleep - by kim | August 22, 2007, 11:09:25 AM
For the first time ever in a long long time, Wyatt went to bed WITHOUT his binky.  It finally broke last night  as i was bringing it upstairs to him.  He had been using it for teething purposes cause it was rather ate up.  I stuck a finger in the hole and pulled and it just severed the sucker part right off.  Wyatt saw it happen, and i had seen him put his finger in that hole (when it was smaller) before.  He was like uhoh.  Mark and I were both like..oh crap, well lets roll with it.  We told Wyatt that it was broken, he took both pieces and tried to put them together and saw it could not be fixed.  We were like we need to throw it away since its broken.  Wyatt threw it away himself and actually went to sleep with no problems.  Nor did he wake during the night.  Of course he woke up at 6:30 and would not go back to sleep but hey.  Jesse also was a good boy.  He slept from 9:30 or 10 till 6:30 am last night.  I love sleep.  I am glad our house is slowly getting sleep back..Wink
All is well in the Zerr household.  Its about time to get Wyatt down for a nap.  So we'll see how a binkyless nap goes..Wink

Edit:
Well he went down but it was kinda a pain in the butt.  I tried being nice but all he wanted to do was play, so finally I left him in there for 5 mins (bathroom break for me) at which he got rather upset, and when I came back after lettin him stew for a few mins, told him to lay down and take nap.  I layed down with him and 5 mins later he was asleep.  Why I have to be mean mommy to get him to listen to me I dont understand.   Shocked

Global Warming wheels are coming off the axle. - by Mark | August 10, 2007, 09:15:37 PM
Th greatest hoax perpetuated on the world's population is coming apart at the seams.  Now NASA itself is caught with its pants down.

Quote
One of the most cited and used historical surface temperature databases is that of NASA/Goddard's GISS.  This is not some weird skeptics site.  It is considered one of the premier world temperature data bases, and it is maintained by anthropogenic global warming true believers.  It has consistently shown more warming than any other data base, and is thus a favorite source for folks like Al Gore.  These GISS readings in the US rely mainly on the US Historical Climate Network (USHCN) which is a network of about 1000 weather stations taking temperatures, a number of which have been in place for over 100 years.

...

Anyway, McIntyre suspected that one of these adjustments had a bug, and had had this bug for years.  Unfortunately, it was hard to prove.  Why?  Well, that highlights one of the great travesties of climate science.  Government scientists using taxpayer money to develop the GISS temperature data base at taxpayer expense refuse to publicly release their temperature adjustment algorithms or software (In much the same way Michael Mann refused to release the details for scrutiny of his methodology behind the hockey stick). Using the data, though, McIntyre made a compelling case that the GISS data base had systematic discontinuities that bore all the hallmarks of a software bug.

Today, the GISS admitted that McIntyre was correct, and has started to republish its data with the bug fixed.  And the numbers are changing a lot.  Before today, GISS would have said 1998 was the hottest year on record (Mann, remember, said with up to 99% certainty it was the hottest year in 1000 years) and that 2006 was the second hottest.  Well, no more.  Here are the new rankings for the 10 hottest years in the US, starting with #1:

    1934, 1998, 1921, 2006, 1931, 1999, 1953, 1990, 1938, 1939

Global Warming is a belief, not unlike religion....it is not science...never has been, and now the purveyors of this belief have been caught with bogus data.  They would never have been caught if some bright folks had not reverse engineered their failed math.  A scientist is supposed to welcome attempts at 3rd party validation, instead these NASA "scientists", prevented independent researches from verifying their data.  Shame on these scare mongers.

Jesse's 2 month check up - by kim | August 03, 2007, 06:41:41 PM
Jesse had his 2 month check up today.  The doctor says he is doing great.  He is smiling at us and i swear i heard him laugh the other day.  He has great head control for a 2 month old, and she thinks he'll be rolling over well before 4 months.  His stats were:  height 22 and 3/4 inches (50th%), Weight 12 lb 14.5 oz (90th%) and head circ 40.4 cm (75th%).  So hes about the same as Wyatt was cept he is about a pound heavier at this point.  He got 4 shots in his little legs and slept all afternoon.
Oh and I know we are slacking on the pictures!  I swear I shall try to get some up this weekend.

Edited on Sunday as Mark gets Wyatt ready for bed:
New pics are up of the boys.

Sleep and Wyatt's 2 year check up - by kim | August 02, 2007, 11:33:59 AM
Jesse slept last night from a bit after 11 till 5 am last night.  Its our first long stretch of night sleep.  Of course the next 2 hours were of him making lots of sleep/grunting and rustleing noises, so I did not sleep very well after that..Wink

Wyatt had his 2 year check up.  He is 35 inches tall (55%), 26 lbs (25%), and 49.5 cm for head circ. (75%).  No shots this time.  Everything was fine with him.  Jesse has his 2 month check up soon.  He will get shots, poor thing.

Mommy and me class with Jesse - by kim | July 27, 2007, 07:58:42 PM
Jesse and I went to Mommy and Me on Monday after my 6 week check up.  All is well with me and Jesse weighed in at 12 lbs 5 oz.  It was fun to spend a bit of quality time with Jesse.  i'll have to utilize the babysitter and do it a few more times.  Wyatt has his 2 year appt coming up soon.  Shots..fun...And he has been getting his 2 y ear molars in.  This i found out today, and explains some of his bad behavior from the last few weeks (temper tantrums).  Course part of that is the new baby too.  We are all tired.  Wyatt woke up during the 5 am feeding of Jesse last night and came into the bedroom.  Since I was done, i handed Jesse off to Mark and took Wyatt back to bed.  Thankfully they both went back to sleep pretty quick.  Jesse tends to wake up at 1:30 and 4:30 then between 7 and 8.  It could be worse..Wink  Some days it is.  Mark has had a cold, as did Wyatt and Jesse.  The boys were all stuffy and snotty.  Thankfully it seems to have missed me.
So thats whats up at the Zerr house these days.. Smiley

Iraqis and Americans dance after smashing Al Queerda - by Mark | July 14, 2007, 12:58:08 PM
I ran across this video today of Iraqis and Americans dancing after smoking out and routing Al Queerda in Iraq's Anbar province.  I sure hope this is a sign things are turning around.  The sooner Iraq stabilizes, the sooner our brave soldiers can return home to a heroe's welcome.

Video is here.

Jesse is 4 weeks old! - by Mark | July 08, 2007, 07:30:24 AM
It is hard to believe it, but it has already been 4 weeks since Jesse joined our family.  Life marches onward and each day I feel blessed to have a loving wife and two healthy young boys.  Jesse has even started breaking an occasional smile the last couple of days.  Wyatt is doing really well with Jesse and has been nothing but sweet with him.  Wyatt even tries to calm Jesse down when Jesse starts crying.  Wyatt will try rubbing his belly or patting his head and Wyatt has so far been very gentle with Jesse.  Jesse has broken through the 10 pound barrier and is eating like crazy, so I imagine he will be catching up with Wyatt very soon.  Another interesting thing is that since Jesse was born, Wyatt has become much more affectionate with Kim, the pets, and I.  It could be a coincidence, or perhaps it is his way to ensure he gets enough attention. I finally got around to uploading some new pictures of Wyatt and Jesse.

Everyone is still doing well.  Life is insanely busy, but we are slowly adjusting to the bigger family.

F*cking EVIL!!! - by Mark | July 06, 2007, 08:22:42 AM
F*cking evil monsters.

Quote
At first, he said, they would only target Shia, but over time the new al Qaeda directed attacks against Sunni, and then anyone who thought differently. The official reported that on a couple of occasions in Baqubah, al Qaeda invited to lunch families they wanted to convert to their way of thinking. In each instance, the family had a boy, he said, who was about 11-years-old. As LT David Wallach interpreted the man’s words, I saw Wallach go blank and silent.  He stopped interpreting for a moment. I asked Wallach, “What did he say?” Wallach said that at these luncheons, the families were sat down to eat.  And then their boy was brought in with his mouth stuffed. The boy had been baked.  Al Qaeda served the boy to his family.

Yes....these people can be reasoned with....can't they?  Evil such as this must be destroyed completely before it spreads its tentacles into more and more minds.  We are the good guys in this fight....they are the evil ones.....we must not ever forget this or we are all doomed to live under the barbarians rule.
