The boy's had a well check visit - by kim | July 24, 2008, 12:52:33 PM
Today we went to the doctor and the boys got their 3year and 1 year well check visits.  Jesse got 4 shots and Wyatt got no shots.  Jesse screamed a bit but calmed down shortly thereafter.  Wyatt did not care to do anything the nurses or doctor wanted to do, so we had to do it the hard way with him screaming the whole time.  Wyatt's stats are 31 lbs (we had to weigh me and him then just weigh me to get his weight), and 37.5 inches tall.  He is 50% for both stats.  Jesse is 22lbs 12.5 oz and 29.25 inches tall.  This puts him at about 50% for weight and 75% for height.  They are both doing well, and are progessing normally skill wise.  Jesse is just about running now, and tries very hard to keep up with his brother.  He has a bunch of booboo's to prove it.  I keep wanting to have a family picture done, but every time I start to get something schedualed, Jesse face plants on the concrete and scrapes himself up really good.
All is well here.  Mark is working hard at Rockwell and I am keeping the boys in check at home.  We have a pretty good schedual going during the day and come fall Wyatt will be starting a preschool, which one he goes to will depend on if he decides to potty train by then or not (oh hes being stubborn).

There are new pictures of the boys up, as well as our family vacation in june to missouri and the boy's birthdays.

New pictures of the boys - by kim | April 09, 2008, 08:53:27 PM
We have more pictures up of the boys, under Wyatt, Jesse and Wyatt & Jesse.  Life is going here in Iowa.  Mark is almost finished with his big project, so he is home more.  The boys are doing good.  Wyatt is growing bigger, regardless of the fact he exists on air and chocolate milk.  His speech is improving by leaps and bounds.  Jesse is getting bigger also.  He can stand up on his own, without any furniture to pull up on.  He is still not walking.  He has taken a few steps on his own, but prefers to just drop down and crawl.  If you hold his hands he'll walk for a ways, and he LOVES his push toys outside.  Baby

Happy V-Day! - by kim | February 14, 2008, 02:42:20 PM
I hope everyone is having a lovely V-Day.  The kids are at the sitter and Mark let me sleep in this morning so its a nice and relaxing day.  Mark has been working nights trying to get a big project finished up.  It has been a bit stressfull on us, but hes still here in the evenings which is good.  I've been keeping the children from killing themselves.  Jesse has been able to climb the stairs for about a month now.  I think he thinks its a game.  "Wait till Mommy's back is turned then zoom over to the stairs and start up.  Soon as I get to the top...Dog Dish here I come!!!"
Wyatt has been getting some speech assistance from Early Access.  She comes twice a month and plays with him for about 30 mins, and tries to get him to talk more, then gives us some papers on things we can do.  He has started to speak more, and we can occasionally understand more of what hes saying.  That may just be he's catching up, or that they are helping, not sure which.  He is still loving towards his little brother, except when Jesse is trying to steal his food, or knock down his lego's, or steal his trains.  But he's learning to share.  He's pretty good about finding something else for Jesse to have instead of whatever he is playing with.
There are relatively new pics up in their albums.  Mom has gotten on me about slacking on the picture taking..Wink  I found the camera so i'll have to try to get some more taken and uploaded.

Jesse's 6 month check up - by kim | December 20, 2007, 08:59:13 AM
Jesse had his 6 month checkup on monday.  Hes doing really good the dr. said.  He was 19 lbs 8.5 oz which is the 80th percentile for weight.  This is a drop from before, but since hes starting solids and moving around more its expected.  He is 27 inches long which is 75th percentile for height and is 45.5 cm circumfrance on his head (90th percentile).  So hes a big boy with a big head..Wink  He got 3 shots and a oral vaccine, poor baby.  Wyatt told on me that night to Mark...It was something like 'Momma, Baby..booboo.."  Jesse is doing the army crawl thing and getting around really good.  He is sitting up  good, but has not figured out how to sit himself up yet. Halloween - by kim | October 31, 2007, 08:13:03 AM
Happy Halloween!!
Wyatt initially was not to into his spiderman halloween costume, but now we have a hard time getting it off of him.  He slept in it the other night, and last night, and probably will wear it till bed time tonight.  He has taken to sleeping with his spiderman figureine and even tried to put a diaper on it the other night.  The diaper was almost as big as the figureine.  I'll try to get some pictures of the boys up in their costumes tonight.  Jesse is a duck for halloween.  Hes a VERY cute duck..Wink  Jesse is now as of yesterday rolling over from back to front, but then after a bit gets pissed cause he does not know how to roll from front to back yet.  I am doing lots better, pretty much fully healed.  They are slowly taking me down off of the prednesone, thank god.  I have about another month of decreasing doses of it then i should be done.  Mark is working hard.  He has lots of irons in the fire at work.  I will be taking the kids down to Grandma's next week for a week so he can work some obscene amount of hours to get caught up before we head to Mom's for thanksgiving and the annual kill bambi fest (deer hunting).
Wyatt rather enjoy's trick or treating.  We took him to St. Pius' Trunk or Treat on Sat. and on Monday my mommies group went to 2 nursing homes.  The entire time I am thinking, "We always tell kids, dont take candy from strangers blah blah blah...but here i am saying, go on honey take one..." heh..ah well..
Welp the baby is waking up from his morning nap so I gotta go.
Edit:
Wyatt got to do a bit more trick or treating this evening.  He rather enjoyed handing out the candy to the other kids.  He was quite insistant that he get to do that when the kiddies came knocking on our door.  I have uploaded some pics to the albums.

An interesting night of sleep - by kim | August 22, 2007, 11:09:25 AM
For the first time ever in a long long time, Wyatt went to bed WITHOUT his binky.  It finally broke last night  as i was bringing it upstairs to him.  He had been using it for teething purposes cause it was rather ate up.  I stuck a finger in the hole and pulled and it just severed the sucker part right off.  Wyatt saw it happen, and i had seen him put his finger in that hole (when it was smaller) before.  He was like uhoh.  Mark and I were both like..oh crap, well lets roll with it.  We told Wyatt that it was broken, he took both pieces and tried to put them together and saw it could not be fixed.  We were like we need to throw it away since its broken.  Wyatt threw it away himself and actually went to sleep with no problems.  Nor did he wake during the night.  Of course he woke up at 6:30 and would not go back to sleep but hey.  Jesse also was a good boy.  He slept from 9:30 or 10 till 6:30 am last night.  I love sleep.  I am glad our house is slowly getting sleep back..Wink
All is well in the Zerr household.  Its about time to get Wyatt down for a nap.  So we'll see how a binkyless nap goes..Wink

Edit:
Well he went down but it was kinda a pain in the butt.  I tried being nice but all he wanted to do was play, so finally I left him in there for 5 mins (bathroom break for me) at which he got rather upset, and when I came back after lettin him stew for a few mins, told him to lay down and take nap.  I layed down with him and 5 mins later he was asleep.  Why I have to be mean mommy to get him to listen to me I dont understand.   Shocked

Jesse's 2 month check up - by kim | August 03, 2007, 06:41:41 PM
Jesse had his 2 month check up today.  The doctor says he is doing great.  He is smiling at us and i swear i heard him laugh the other day.  He has great head control for a 2 month old, and she thinks he'll be rolling over well before 4 months.  His stats were:  height 22 and 3/4 inches (50th%), Weight 12 lb 14.5 oz (90th%) and head circ 40.4 cm (75th%).  So hes about the same as Wyatt was cept he is about a pound heavier at this point.  He got 4 shots in his little legs and slept all afternoon.
Oh and I know we are slacking on the pictures!  I swear I shall try to get some up this weekend.

Edited on Sunday as Mark gets Wyatt ready for bed:
New pics are up of the boys.

Sleep and Wyatt's 2 year check up - by kim | August 02, 2007, 11:33:59 AM
Jesse slept last night from a bit after 11 till 5 am last night.  Its our first long stretch of night sleep.  Of course the next 2 hours were of him making lots of sleep/grunting and rustleing noises, so I did not sleep very well after that..Wink

Wyatt had his 2 year check up.  He is 35 inches tall (55%), 26 lbs (25%), and 49.5 cm for head circ. (75%).  No shots this time.  Everything was fine with him.  Jesse has his 2 month check up soon.  He will get shots, poor thing.

Mommy and me class with Jesse - by kim | July 27, 2007, 07:58:42 PM
Jesse and I went to Mommy and Me on Monday after my 6 week check up.  All is well with me and Jesse weighed in at 12 lbs 5 oz.  It was fun to spend a bit of quality time with Jesse.  i'll have to utilize the babysitter and do it a few more times.  Wyatt has his 2 year appt coming up soon.  Shots..fun...And he has been getting his 2 y ear molars in.  This i found out today, and explains some of his bad behavior from the last few weeks (temper tantrums).  Course part of that is the new baby too.  We are all tired.  Wyatt woke up during the 5 am feeding of Jesse last night and came into the bedroom.  Since I was done, i handed Jesse off to Mark and took Wyatt back to bed.  Thankfully they both went back to sleep pretty quick.  Jesse tends to wake up at 1:30 and 4:30 then between 7 and 8.  It could be worse..Wink  Some days it is.  Mark has had a cold, as did Wyatt and Jesse.  The boys were all stuffy and snotty.  Thankfully it seems to have missed me.
So thats whats up at the Zerr house these days.. Smiley

Jesse is 4 weeks old! - by Mark | July 08, 2007, 07:30:24 AM
It is hard to believe it, but it has already been 4 weeks since Jesse joined our family.  Life marches onward and each day I feel blessed to have a loving wife and two healthy young boys.  Jesse has even started breaking an occasional smile the last couple of days.  Wyatt is doing really well with Jesse and has been nothing but sweet with him.  Wyatt even tries to calm Jesse down when Jesse starts crying.  Wyatt will try rubbing his belly or patting his head and Wyatt has so far been very gentle with Jesse.  Jesse has broken through the 10 pound barrier and is eating like crazy, so I imagine he will be catching up with Wyatt very soon.  Another interesting thing is that since Jesse was born, Wyatt has become much more affectionate with Kim, the pets, and I.  It could be a coincidence, or perhaps it is his way to ensure he gets enough attention.
