I finally got around to uploading some new pictures of Wyatt and Jesse.

Everyone is still doing well.  Life is insanely busy, but we are slowly adjusting to the bigger family.

Long overdue baby update - by Mark | June 20, 2007, 11:03:35 PM
I have been working this week since Kim's Grandma is staying with us to help out.  Juggling work, two children, a recovering wife, and a visiting Granny has put a damper on my ability to keep updates coming on Baby Jesse.  I will probably have some time this weekend to post more pictures.

Kim is recovering well, we took off most of her "sterie" strips that were helping her incision stay together, and overall it looks to be healing rather well.  Jesse has been having some trouble learning how to breastfeed without mortally wounding Kim, but I think he is slowly coming along.  Jesse had his 1 week doctor appointment on Tuesday, and he checked out very well.  He weighed in at 8 lbs 4 ozs.  So he has already gained 6 ozs over his birth weight.  He is sleeping much more than Wyatt ever did.  Usually he sleeps for 2-3 hour blocks throughout the night.  This will hopefully continue and slowly improve.  Wyatt usually only slept for 1-2 hours at first.

In any case, we are all adjusting to all the changes.  Tonight Wyatt needed Daddy to snuggle with for awhile in order to fall asleep.  I think he was feeling needy with all the new baby stuff occurring.  Yesterday was also Wyatt's 2nd Birthday!  We went to Chuck-E-Cheese's and we all had a blast.  I freaking kicked Wyatt's butt at skeeball. Kim and Baby are doing great - by Mark | June 11, 2007, 07:13:07 AM
Kim, slept pretty well last night.  She just got up out of bed and is feeling pretty well.  Jesse has already been eating well and is happily resting in his hospital crib.  Wyatt should be by any minute to meet his baby brother.  I cannot wait to see his expression.  It should be priceless. Baby

Kim is in the hospital - by Mark | June 10, 2007, 10:01:13 PM
Well Kim is in the hospital dilated 5 cm and she has her happy little epidural in.   She started labor around 4:00 am on Saturday June 9th.  We went into the hospital to get her checked around 8:00 pm Saturday night but they sent her home since she was not progressing.  Then, tonight around 5:30 pm her contractions really picked up intensity and frequency, so back into the hospital she went.  Tonight it was for real, and Kim labored pretty hard until around 10:00 pm when the epidural kicked in and took away the pain.  Now we are patiently waiting for baby Jesse to show himself.  The hospital has free laptops and wireless Internet, so I am posting this message from Kim's bedside.  She is resting now, maybe even sleeping.  Hopefully Kim will be able to have a normal birth and not require a C-section.  So far things look good but it is early yet.  I will post updates from here on out as soon as it is practical.  Wyatt is home with Granny Carolyn.  I am praying Kim and baby Jesse get through labor with no complications.  So far things are looking real good.  I know Kim is thankful this is for real, because she was very mad to find out last night, the first 18+ hours of her contractions were not going anywhere. Jesse Tyler Zerr - by Mark | June 03, 2007, 01:25:51 PM
Our second son is being stubborn.  Only about 12 days until his due date and Kim and I are getting very anxious to meet him.  Wyatt knows there is a baby in Mommy's belly, but we do not think he really understands what is in store for our family.  I am not sure we have told everyone, but Kim and I have decided to name our second son: Jesse Tyler Zerr.  We chose Jesse for three reasons.

1.  Jesse is Kim's Grandfather's name.
2.  We wanted to stick to the "outlaw" theme for our sons...ie Jesse, Wyatt, etc
3.  We both agreed we generally like the name

We chose Tyler because we both liked the name and thought it went well with Jesse.  So now we are just waiting for Jesse to show up.  Kim is going to attempt a VBAC this time, but only if she goes into labor naturally.  If the doctor has to induce, Kim has decided to just have a cesarian.
